Pashupatinath Temple Gears Up for Grand Mahashivaratri Celebration

The revered Pashupatinath Temple in Nepal is set to welcome a deluge of devotees for this year's Mahashivaratri festival. The temple, adorned with vibrant decorations, is expected to draw hundreds of thousands, including 240,000 visitors from India.
Prioritizing security, Nepal's Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal assessed the preparations on Saturday evening. An extensive force comprising at least 6,000 security personnel is being deployed, with help desks established by Nepal Scout in collaboration with volunteer groups to aid the massive influx of pilgrims.
Adding to the spiritual fervor, around 4,000 sadhus and 500 Naga Babas will attend the festival. Devotional services include complimentary meals and beverages, thanks to various organizations, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere at the temple, which opens its doors from 2 am on Sunday.
