Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy inaugurated the newly refurbished Nizam-era assembly hall on Sunday, marking a new chapter for the state's legislative council. The building, steeped in history, will continue to narrate its architectural legacy as a symbol of the past and future governance.

In attendance were key political figures, including Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, alongside state ministers. The renovation project had been a Congressional priority since they assumed power in December 2023, showcasing their commitment to preserving state heritage.

Originally constructed between 1905 and 1913 during the Nizam's reign, the edifice is celebrated for its Indo-Sarasenic design. It served as the Legislative Assembly venue until the mid-1980s in undivided Andhra Pradesh. Following the bifurcation in 2014, it temporarily housed the Andhra Pradesh assembly for two years. Its restoration marks a nostalgic nod to history while serving contemporary legislative needs.
