Lance Havildar K G George, a decorated war hero known for his valor in the 1965 India-Pakistan War, passed away at the age of 95 in Kerala. His family announced his demise on Sunday, marking the end of a life devoted to bravery and service.
George, who was born in Kerala in February 1931, served in the Indian Army's Corps of Signals, a pivotal communication unit established in 1911. During his military career, he was lauded for his courage amidst combat, particularly noted during the period from September 6 to 10, 1965, when he valiantly restored communications under enemy attack.
His family, currently awaiting the arrival of relatives from Dubai, has preserved his remains for a funeral in Kottayam. This delay is due to ongoing travel difficulties amid the West Asian conflict, but they plan to honor his legacy once all family members are present.
