The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued summons to actress Nora Fatehi, actor Sanjay Dutt, and several others, amidst a furor over alleged obscenity in the song 'Sarke Chunar'. According to the Commission, the material exhibits sexually suggestive and objectionable content, breaching the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, IT Act, and POCSO Act provisions.
The NCW acted on its own after media outlets reported on the song's controversial lyrics. It demanded the presence of lyricist Raqueeb Alam, producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Group, and Kiran Kumar at a March 24 hearing, stressing consequences for non-attendance.
The song, attached to the soon-to-be-released Kannada movie 'KD: The Devil', has been retracted from YouTube due to backlash over its explicit language. Those involved claim they warned of potential issues, with Fatehi noting her concerns upon hearing the Hindi version.
