The Paris Court of Appeal on Thursday denied the French government's request to suspend Shein's online marketplace. This decision comes after a Paris court had already ruled against the government's attempt in December.
The Chinese platform found itself embroiled in scandal after France's consumer watchdog DGCCRF discovered prohibited items like sex dolls resembling children and weapons for sale. These findings prompted the government to seek a suspension of the platform.
Despite the controversy, Shein took decisive action by banning all sex dolls and suspending its adult products category globally as of November 3, following the watchdog's discoveries.
