On Thursday, the Border Brew Cafe, a refreshment facility managed by local Monpa women, was inaugurated at Zemithang in Arunachal Pradesh, aimed at promoting community development and sustainable tourism in remote border areas.

Constructed on a decommissioned Bailey bridge over the river Nyamjang Chu, the cafe stands as a unique initiative in the northeastern region, blending heritage infrastructure with modern utility, tourism potential, and providing livelihood opportunities for the local community.

Developed by the Indian Army in 31 days under Operation Sadbhavna, the cafe underscores the mission's ethos of fostering goodwill and socio-economic upliftment. Lt Gen RC Tiwari praised the Gajraj Corps for their role in establishing this iconic pit stop.
