Vice President CP Radhakrishnan highlighted the enduring democratic principles in India, which are deeply embedded in the nation's societal fabric, during a book release ceremony in Parliament.

In his address, he underlined that India's democracy is a continuation of a civilizational ethos that values dialogue, consensus, and respect for diverse opinions. The event marked the release of 'Tides of Time: Bharat's History through Murals in Parliament' by Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murty, with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also present.

Radhakrishnan noted that the murals within Samvidhan Sadan are visual narratives of India's historical journey, echoing themes of inclusiveness and cultural richness as highlighted by Tamil poet Subramania Bharati. He emphasized the symbolic links between modern India and its heritage, exemplified by the presence of the Chola dynasty's sacred Sengol in the Parliament.
