Chhattisgarh athletes unveiled their exceptional talent at the inaugural Khelo India Tribal Games, earning significant praise from Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. Recognizing their achievements, the Chief Minister announced generous cash rewards for all medallists, with a special incentive for those reaching Olympic heights.
In a grand closing ceremony at the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay auditorium, it was revealed that Chhattisgarh finished ninth on the medal tally, securing 3 gold, 10 silver, and 6 bronze medals. The event witnessed fierce competition with Karnataka emerging as champions, while Odisha and Jharkhand secured second and third positions, respectively.
The Deputy Chief Minister, also the state's sports minister, lauded the successful organization of the Games and assured that future editions would be even more spectacular, setting a new benchmark. An impressive 3,800 participants from thirty states competed in various sports disciplines, showcasing India's rich sporting talent.
