In a recent interview, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale urged the Indian diaspora to play a more active role in their host communities, emphasizing the importance of cultural integration without losing Indian values. Hosabale encouraged Indians abroad, particularly in the United States, to avoid displaying religious or cultural divisions overtly.
Responding to concerns that Indians in the U.S. might be attracting unwanted attention by emphasizing their cultural identity, he referenced a recent situation involving a large Hanuman statue in Texas. He clarified that while such actions are legal, they must balance cultural identity with a commitment to the host country.
While acknowledging the economic success of Indians abroad, Hosabale advocated for greater engagement in philanthropy. He cited the Hindu community's increased earnings and their growing contributions to national wealth, urging them to follow the example of other communities by enhancing their philanthropic efforts.
