Thousands gathered in Lucknow on Thursday to bid farewell to Prateek Yadav, the younger son of the late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. The procession, marked by chants of 'Prateek Yadav amar rahe,' was a heartfelt tribute from the supporters who came to pay their last respects.

The funeral procession covered a five-kilometer route from Prateek's residence to the Baikunth Dham crematorium. Aditya Yadav, son of Shivpal Singh Yadav, carried the bier in a touching ceremony that included traditional customs observed by the Yadav family.

Prateek's legacy as an animal lover was commemorated by the images of him with his pets on the hearse. His wife, Aparna Bisht Yadav, accompanied by their two daughters, and Juna Akhara Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri, led the procession. The event drew notable figures like SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and Deputy Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, who paid their tributes.
