Hollywood star Keanu Reeves is set to voice the title role in 'Hidari', a Japanese stop-motion action feature directed by Masashi Kawamura. The film was announced at Cannes, expanding on Kawamura's acclaimed 2023 short with the same name.

'Hidari' draws inspiration from the legend of Jingoro Hidari, a master carpenter of Japan's Edo period. The narrative explores themes of betrayal and vengeance as the protagonist loses his mentor, fiancé, and right arm during Edo Castle's reconstruction. He seeks revenge using a self-designed prosthetic arm.

Reeves, thrilled by the project's vision, praised the extraordinary work from concept to script. His previous voice roles include Duke Caboom in Pixar's 'Toy Story 4'. Director Kawamura expressed excitement at collaborating with Reeves, highlighting his creative vision and influence on the film's development.
