Iranian Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi was released from a Tehran hospital after more than two weeks. She requires ongoing medical care following a decline in health, including a heart attack and lung clot. Mohammadi was awarded the Nobel in 2023 while detained and has faced multiple imprisonments.
Iranian Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi has been discharged from a hospital in Tehran following a stay of over two weeks, according to her supporters.
They emphasized the need for her to continue receiving medical attention and daily physiotherapy at home due to her deteriorating health conditions.
Mohammadi, 54, was initially hospitalized after losing consciousness in a prison in northwestern Iran. Her health issues, including a heart attack in March and a pre-existing lung clot, have sparked renewed concerns over her treatment. The activist, who was awarded the Nobel in 2023, has a history of arrests, with her latest detention occurring last December in Mashhad.
