Rhea Seehorn joins 'Running'

Actor Rhea Seehorn has become the latest addition to the star cast of ''Running''.

The Apple Studios film is directed by Gavin O'Connor and written by Bill Dubuque, according to the entertainment news outlet Deadline.

It follows a homeless high school running prodigy on the hunt for greatness as he uses his gifts to outrun his past and find a family.

Seehorn, known for her roles in projects such as ''Better Call Saul'' and ''Pluribus'', among others, will feature alongside the previously announced actors, Spike Fearn and Brian Tyree Henry.

O'Connor has earlier spoken of his film and said he thinks of it as ''an underdog story about the human spirit''. ''I started thinking about building a story around a homeless kid who doesn't have a place in the world. No love. No friends. No family. The only home he knows is the streets. It felt like a great place to begin a character's journey and tell an underdog story about the human spirit,'' he said.

Seehorn's latest work is ''Pluribus''. The series started streaming in 2025 and features the actor in the role of Carol. It revolves around the actor's character, a cynical romance novelist who becomes one of the last immune humans after a mysterious RNA signal from space infects humanity, turning the rest of the world into a perpetually happy, peaceful, and content hive mind.

It also features Karolina Wydra, Carlos Vesga, and Miriam Shor.
