Miraculous Survival: Nepali Sherpa Rescued from Everest
Dawa Sherpa, a 52-year-old Nepali guide, survived about a week on Everest's slopes without food or oxygen. Missing since May 29, he was rescued above base camp by a team cleaning after the climbing season ended. Dawa is recovering from frostbite and other issues in the hospital.
A Nepali Sherpa guide has amazed many with his incredible survival story after being rescued from Mount Everest's slopes.
Dawa Sherpa, aged 52, went missing on May 29 while descending with a Polish climber who returned to base camp alone. Thankfully, Lama Kazi Sherpa and his team found Dawa near the treacherous Khumbu Icefall.
Rescued without food or oxygen, Dawa was swiftly hospitalised for frostbite and other complications but is now recovering well, according to family members. This rescue comes after more than 1,000 climbers attempted Everest this season.
