Wasserman confirmed his intention to stay during a press conference.

Casey Wasserman announced Thursday his decision to retain his position as board chair of LA28, regardless of past associations with convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell. These connections were detailed in U.S. Justice Department files related to Jeffrey Epstein, released earlier this year.

In response to questions at a press conference about considering stepping down and discussions with LA Mayor Karen Bass, Wasserman replied, "No and yes." He confirmed maintaining regular communication with Bass, who had urged him to resign in February.

Wasserman's connections with Maxwell, documented in legal findings made public earlier this year, have been scrutinized. However, he remains steadfast in his leadership role, as confirmed in his remarks to the press.
