Celebrated British actor Anthony Head has died at the age of 72, succumbing to complications from pneumonia. Known for his iconic roles in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Ted Lasso,' Head's death was announced by his daughters Daisy and Emily in a heartwarming statement on Friday to the Press Association in the UK.

"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our extraordinary father, Anthony Head," their statement read. "He passed away peacefully of complications due to pneumonia, surrounded by his family." Best known for his portrayal of Rupert Giles, the sage mentor in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' Head became a beloved fixture in households worldwide.

In recent years, Head charmed a new audience as Rupert Mannion in 'Ted Lasso,' the former owner of AFC Richmond. Beyond television, Head's career flourished in theater, with significant roles in productions like 'Godspell,' 'Chess,' and 'Peter Pan.' He also became a familiar face in the UK through a popular Nescafe ad campaign from 1987 to 1993.
