Haitian fans brought the lively spirit of Carnival to downtown Boston on Saturday, ahead of their team's first World Cup match since 1974. The energetic rara band created a festive atmosphere that competed with the sounds of Scotland's bagpipes.

Fans gathered in Copley Square, a hub for Boston's significant Haitian community. Lovely Patrick, part of the crowd, expressed optimism for the match. Haiti, ranked 83rd by FIFA, faces a challenging group including Brazil and Morocco.

Despite the political and social challenges facing Haitians, including immigration issues and violence, the community remains determined to celebrate and support their team. Council member Ruthzee Louijeune acknowledged the obstacles but emphasized the community's unwavering spirit.
