In Shanghai, a unique educational facility known as Paw³ offers a novel take on pet care by introducing a preschool setting for dogs. Throughout each day, dogs experience a schedule filled with interactive games, snacks, and treadmill strolls, all set to the backdrop of live classical piano music.
The initiative highlights a shift in urban China's consumer habits, as younger owners increasingly consider pets as family members. Many, like Qian Yi, invest significantly in pet-related services, driving market growth. Her monthly spending for her border collie, Harry, exemplifies the rising trend of allocating budgets towards pet enrichment services.
The idea originated from founder Jann Zhang's need to address the behavioral challenges of his own dog. Drawing inspiration from similar U.S. models, Zhang has expanded his clientele to 200, demonstrating the high demand for quality pet socialization spaces in urban centers.
