Jennifer Lopez is currently under fire! An Egyptian lawyer has filed a lawsuit against the globally-famed J-Lo for reportedly appearing ‘semi-naked’ at the El Alamein concert. She performed the highly-anticipated show in the town of El Alamein on Egypt’s North Coast that made her first-ever concert in the country that links northeast Africa with the Middle East.

Jennifer Lopez’s concert in Egypt on Friday took place without being able to count a throng of 2,000 due to the calls by anti-Israeli groups to boycott her concert due to her decision to perform in Israel the week before. It further accused the 50-year-old American pop star of ‘provocation’ for posting an Instagram photo with ‘occupied Palestine’ — in fact, a Tel Aviv beach — behind her, as reported by Breitbart.

The female Egyptian government ministers, who attended Jennifer Lopez’s concert are also being sued. The lawyer named Samir Sabry has sought detainment for a number of high-profile defendants. The lawsuit was also made as J-Lo raised the concert just days after a terrorist attack in Cairo (that took around 20 people), which he termed ‘inappropriate’. He also objected for raising the concert in the holy month of Dhu al-Hijjah, Albawaba reported.

Samir Sabry already gained global notoriety in the last few years. His popularity highly increased after making a lawsuit against the BBC office in Egypt. He demanded its closure in response to a biased coverage against the President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The way Samir Sabry has brought obscenity charges against Jennifer Lopez is quite similar to last year’s conviction for Egyptian actress Rania Youssef on similar charges. He and another lawyer Amro Abdelsalam accused Rania Youssef of ‘inciting debauchery’ by exposing her legs at the incident and they claimed about it “she didn’t meet societal values, traditions and morals.” But the lawsuit was later withdrawn against Youssef after the 45-year-old Egyptian actress made a public apology.

But as far as Jennifer Lopez is concerned, it may be quite difficult to expect an apology from the Hollywood pop singer who has worn similar costumes in several events and concerts around the globe.

#Repost from @voguearabia. Jennifer Lopez performed for the first time in Egypt’s North Coast, in a completely sold out venue. Paying homage to the country, she introduced to her wardrobe a look by @nagwa_kamazahran, being the first time an Egyptian brand dressed the performer. This is an incredible milestone for fashion made in Egypt, as until now the star always favored Lebanese designers. What do you think of the look?
