Water Resources Ministry announces winners of water conservation video contest

The Water Resources Ministry today announced names of three winners selected based on their videos on water conservation under the 'Video Bano, Puraskar Pao' initiative.
The winners of the contest for the fortnight between July 10 and July 24 are Shreshth Sahu (Varanasi), who won Rs 25,000, Satish Mewada (Bhopal), who won Rs 15,000, and Gopal Kumar Prajapati (Bokaro) who won Rs 10,000.
"The main purpose behind the scheme is to promote water conservation," Niteshwar Kumar, Joint Secretary in the Water Resources Ministry, said.
The video contest was launched on July 10 and will run till November 4, 2018.
The participants are judged on the basis of creativity, originality, technical excellence, quality of videos and visual impact, officials said.
In the first fortnight, a total number of 431 entries were received through the MyGov app, out of which 38 videos were short-listed.
