Spurs sign Pondexter

The San Antonio Spurs have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with free agent swingman Quincy Pondexter, ESPN reported Monday.

Pondexter, 30, is trying to revive his career after a knee injury. He was the 26th overall pick of the 2010 draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder, who dealt him to the then-New Orleans Hornets.

The 6-foot-7 Pondexter averaged 2.0 points in 23 games for the Chicago Bulls last season before being released.

Pondexter missed the previous two seasons due to a left knee injury that occurred while he was a member of the New Orleans Pelicans. He told ESPN last year that he suffered a MRSA infection that complicated his recovery.
