Hyderabad police busts sex determination racket in Chottupal

Hyderabad, Sept 12 (PTI) A sex determination racket has been busted here with the arrest of two doctors and a laboratory owner, police said Wednesday.

Dr. Prasanthi, Dr. Sreedhar and Dhanaiah, owner of the diagnostic center, who were allegedly conducting illegal prenatal sex determination, have been nabbed, a police release from Rachakonda Police Commissionerate said.

Police acted on a complaint about sex determination tests and selective abortions at a private hospital in Chottupal, it said.

A scanner, registers, phones and other items were seized during a raid, the release added.
