Withdrawal of monsoon begins in Himachal Pradesh: IMD

The monsoon withdrawal has started in Himachal Pradesh, the India Meteorological Department said on Saturday. According to the IMD, the withdrawal of monsoon has started from the western parts of the state.
"During the past 24 hours, there has been rain in Lahaul-Spiti. Kullu and Kinnaur received fresh rainfall. The higher reaches also received fresh snowfall in Lahaul-Spiti district. As far as monsoon is concerned the withdrawal has been started in Himachal Pradesh," said, Sandeep Kumar Sharma, senior scientist at IMD. "The monsoon withdrawal has started from the western parts of the state. In the higher reaches, there would be snow and in some parts, there would be rain. The maximum temperatures have gone up by two degrees and lower temperatures will come down," Sharma further added. (ANI)
