Strong earthquake reported in parts of Australia; damage reports awaited

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck around 1,000 km north-northwest of the Australian city of Perth, the U.S. Geological Survey reported on Sunday.

The quake occurred at a depth of 33.0 km, USGS said.
