Russia Seeks New LNG Markets Amid EU Restrictions

Russia is prepared to find alternative buyers for its liquefied natural gas (LNG) if the European Union stops imports. Artyom Studennikov from the Russian foreign ministry criticized the EU's plans, suggesting Europe is harming its own interests.

Russia will find other buyers for its liquefied natural gas (LNG) on the global market if the European Union decides to halt its imports, the RIA news agency cited a Russian foreign ministry official as saying on Wednesday.

RIA cited the head of the European department at the ministry, Artyom Studennikov, commenting on the EU's plans to restrict Russian LNG imports saying that Europe was "shooting itself in the foot".
