Conrad K Sangma Lauds Indian Government for Over Rs. 1,000 Crore Tax Devolution to Meghalaya

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday for releasing over Rs 1,000 crore as tax devolution to the state for June.
'I want to thank the government of India, especially the prime minister and the finance minister for releasing the tax devolution yesterday,' Sangma stated in a video message.
The Centre had authorised a tax devolution amounting to Rs 1,39,750 crore to various states for the month of June. In a consequential decision, an additional installment was sanctioned along with the regular release for June, the Finance Ministry disclosed.
In another statement on X, Sangma noted, 'We express our gratitude to the @FinMinIndia, for releasing an additional devolution installment of Rs 536 crore to Meghalaya, bringing the total to Rs 1,072.90 crore for June. This extra fund will help expedite ongoing development projects in the state.'
