Acting on intelligence regarding a drone carrying narcotics in the border area of district Taran Taran, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police launched a comprehensive search operation on Wednesday. The operation resulted in the seizure of 566 grams of suspected heroin.
The search commenced at around 11:15 AM with BSF troops recovering and neutralizing a drone along with a packet of heroin near the village of Kalash in district Taran Taran. The narcotics packet, wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and an improvised cotton thread loop illuminated by a stick, weighed approximately 566 grams. The drone was identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 classic.
This successful operation highlights the effective collaboration between BSF and Punjab Police in intercepting illicit activities across the border. Similar instances have been noted in recent times, with foreign-made drones frequently being intercepted in Punjab’s border districts. Earlier in the week, BSF also recovered another Pakistani drone and a packet of heroin in separate operations within Punjab. (ANI)
