In a significant move to empower Ex-Agniveers, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Border Security Force (BSF) have declared special recruitment benefits for them. CISF Director General Neena Singh announced that the CISF is fully prepared to recruit Ex-Agniveers.

"CISF has made all arrangements to recruit Ex-Agniveers. Ten percent of constable posts have been reserved for them, and they will also receive relaxation in the Physical Efficiency Test," stated CISF Director General Neena Singh. "There is also age relaxation, with a five-year relaxation for the first batch and a three-year relaxation for subsequent batches," she added.

Emphasizing the benefits, Singh noted, "Recruitment of Ex-Agniveers will provide CISF with a capable, dedicated, and disciplined workforce, enhancing operational efficiency. Ex-Agniveers will also gain the opportunity to serve in CISF." BSF Director General Nitin Agrawal echoed these sentiments and expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming recruitments. "Ex-Agniveers have dedicated four years of their life in service. With short additional training, BSF plans to deploy them along the borders. We are eagerly waiting to recruit them," he stated.

Agrawal confirmed the 10% reservation for Ex-Agniveers in the recruitment process, alongside age relaxations. "For the first batch, the age relaxation is five years, while for subsequent batches, the age relaxation is three years," he explained.

The recruitment announcement comes against a backdrop of controversy in the parliament over the Agniveer scheme. Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Defence Minister Rajnath Singh of misleading the parliament regarding compensation for the families of slain Agniveers. Gandhi claimed that despite Singh's assurances, the family of a deceased Agniveer had not received the promised compensation. In response, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh asserted, "The Indian Army is committed to the welfare of Agniveers!"
