Kerala Reigns Supreme in NITI Aayog's SDG India Index 2023-24
Kerala has once again topped the NITI Aayog's SDG India Index 2023-24, scoring 79 points. This accolade recognizes the welfare and social progress initiatives by the LDF government. Uttarakhand shares the top performer spot, while Bihar ranks lowest. Overall, India's SDG score improved to 71 from 66.

Kerala has reaffirmed its leadership by securing the top position in the NITI Aayog's SDG India Index 2023-24. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced this milestone, noting the state's score of 79 points, up from 75 in 2020-21.
Vijayan highlighted the achievement on social media, attributing the success to the initiatives of the Left Democratic Front government and the support of Kerala's citizens. 'Kerala tops India once again! This recognition reflects our commitment to social progress and welfare,' he stated.
The latest index also recognized Uttarakhand as a top performer, while Bihar was deemed the worst. Nationally, India's SDG score rose to 71, improved significantly through efforts on poverty elimination, decent work, economic growth, climate action, and life on land.
