Assam STF Seizes Rs 17.5 Crore Worth Heroin in Major Drug Bust

The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police seized over 2 kg of heroin worth Rs 17.5 crore in two operations. Four drug peddlers were arrested. The first seizure in Golaghat district totaled 1.732 kg, while the second in Guwahati netted 308 grams.

The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam police has successfully seized more than 2 kg of heroin valued at Rs 17.5 crore in two separate high-stakes operations. The operations led to the apprehension of four individuals involved in drug trafficking.

In the first operation, the STF team recovered 1.732 kg of heroin from Golaghat district on Sunday. Two suspects were taken into custody. According to Pranab Jyoti Goswami, the CPRO of Assam police, the STF acted on credible information regarding the hoarding of substantial amounts of contraband drugs.

The second operation, carried out in the Katabari area of Guwahati, led to the recovery of 308 grams of heroin. Two peddlers, identified as Sahar Ali and Mir Hussain, were arrested. Legal proceedings have been initiated against all four accused.
