Puri Prepares for Bahuda Yatra with Enhanced Security and Traffic Arrangements

Authorities in Puri have implemented detailed security and traffic measures for the Bahuda Yatra. Odisha ADG Sanjay Kumar confirms 180 platoons and multiple forces are deployed across the city, equipped with comprehensive CCTV monitoring, ensuring a smooth procession as deities return to Jagannath Temple on Monday.

In preparation for the Bahuda Yatra in Puri, officials have instituted extensive arrangements and security measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the procession. The event, marking the return of deities to the Jagannath Temple, will take place on Monday.

Odisha ADG (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar stated that security forces are on high alert, and the city is monitored by CCTV surveillance. "All arrangements have been made. Entrance for normal devotees has been stopped. As per the rituals, things will start at 8 a.m., with force deployment beginning at 6 a.m.," Kumar told ANI on Sunday. He emphasized improved traffic management and the upgraded security arrangements in place to prevent any issues during the pulling of the deities. "Forces are in high morale, and everything is well-placed," he said.

Additional security measures include the deployment of 180 platoons, three companies of the RAF, two companies of the CRPF, and eight Special Operations Group teams. Kumar added that despite rough weather, all officers and constables are performing their duties diligently. The Bahuda Yatra marks the conclusion of a nine-day journey of Lord Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra, as they return to Sri Mandir from Sri Gundicha temple in chariots pulled by devotees.
