Massive Crowd Gathers at Govardhan Temple for Mundiya Purnima Mela

Devotees flock to the Govardhan Temple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, for the Mundiya Purnima Mela. Mathura DM Shailendra Kumar Singh assures that all necessary arrangements, including sanitation, health centers, and crowd control measures, are in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.

Thousands of devotees assembled at the Govardhan Temple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday ahead of the Mundiya Purnima Mela. District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar Singh confirmed that all required preparations had been made for the event.

Singh emphasized the critical nature of the festival for Mathura and outlined a 21 km circumambulation route, with 1.5 km in Rajasthan and the rest in Uttar Pradesh. "We have installed CCTV cameras and a public address system for maintaining connectivity and managing crowd control," he said. He further acknowledged the efforts of various departments, such as Health, Electricity, Transport, Revenue, and Police, in enhancing the fair's arrangements.

Over 600 sanitation workers have been deployed to keep the area clean, and Singh made a public appeal to avoid the use of polythene. "DJ music is banned to facilitate clear public announcements. This measure helps in reuniting lost family members," he added.

In addition, 20 health centers and 21 ambulances are operational during the mela. "We have established a control room and 'Khoya Paya Kendra' to assist attendees. More than 30 beds and doctors are available at district hospitals. All necessary arrangements are in place, and we are fully prepared," Singh asserted.

The Mundiya Purnima Mela attracts Krishna devotees from around the world, who come to complete the 21 km Girraj Parikrama. (ANI)
