A delegation from the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) met with Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Monday following the GTB Hospital shooting incident, according to an official statement. The delegation, led by FAIMA's National Chairman, included the National General Secretary and Chief Advisor.

Senior health officials of the Delhi government also attended the meeting. Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj assured the implementation of robust security measures, aimed at creating a safer working environment for doctors and enhancing patient care.

The minister acknowledged the grievances raised by the FAIMA delegation, promising several measures: installation of metal detectors at hospital emergency entries, deployment of armed guards, and a constant police presence. Additionally, he vowed to review hospital SOPs, ensure strict legal action against assaulters, and maintain CCTV functionality in hospitals.

Expressing condolences to the affected family, Minister Bharadwaj termed the incident unfortunate and reiterated the government's commitment to the safety of doctors and citizens. He announced plans to discuss the issue with the police and central government to prevent future occurrences.
