Captain Thapa, who was born on Army Day, January 15, came from a family with a strong military tradition. His father, Colonel Bhuwanesh K Thapa (Retd), shared how his son was inspired by his family's legacy and aspired to join the Army from childhood.
The young officer, a qualified engineer, chose to serve in the Army and had been with the forces for five years. Captain Thapa's mother, Nilima, reflected on the duality of pride and sorrow, acknowledging the risks involved in military duty. The family was informed of Brijesh's martyrdom on Monday night, and his mortal remains are scheduled to return to their ancestral home in Lebong on Wednesday.
