Vedanta Ltd Secures Crucial Mineral Blocks in Karnataka and Bihar
Vedanta Ltd has acquired two critical mineral blocks in Karnataka and Bihar. The Nickel Chromium and PGE Blocks were auctioned by the mines ministry at different levels of exploration. Vedanta was declared the preferred bidder for both the Gollarahatti-Mallenahalli and Genjana blocks.

Vedanta Ltd announced on Sunday that it has successfully secured two critical mineral blocks, located in Karnataka and Bihar, after competitive bidding.
In a filing to the BSE, the company disclosed that it had been designated as the 'preferred bidder' for the Gollarahatti-Mallenahalli Nickel Chromium and PGE Block in Karnataka and the Genjana Nickel, Chromium, and PGE Block in Bihar.
The mines ministry auctioned these blocks in separate rounds, with different exploration stages. The Gollarahatti-Mallenahalli block is at the G4 exploration level, while the Genjana block is at the G3 level.
Exploration for mineral deposits typically involves four stages: reconnaissance survey (G4), preliminary exploration (G3), general exploration (G2), and detailed exploration (G1).
