The Woodyglen community in Hammarsdale, KwaZulu-Natal, is set to benefit from substantial cost savings and reduced energy consumption following the installation of new solar geysers in 700 households. This initiative by the eThekwini Municipality marks a significant step towards embracing green energy and enhancing sustainability in the area.

The solar geyser project, aimed at reducing electricity consumption and associated costs, has been completed with a focus on both environmental and economic benefits for residents. Ward 6 Councillor Bless Majola praised the successful implementation of the project and revealed plans to extend it to other areas within the ward.

Majola highlighted the project's additional benefits, noting that local young people were trained in the installation and maintenance of the geysers, generating approximately 30 temporary jobs. He anticipates further employment opportunities as the project expands.
