The Special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Court on Friday issued non-bailable warrants against Anmol Bishnoi and Rohit Godara in connection with the firing incident at Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence, according to the Mumbai Police.
Earlier, on July 8, the Mumbai Crime Branch submitted a 1,735-page chargesheet under MCOCA against nine individuals implicated in the case. This extensive document was presented at the Special MCOCA Court in Mumbai and includes charges against six arrested suspects and three wanted individuals, among them gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi.
Spanning three volumes, the chargesheet consolidates various investigative materials, including statements from 46 witnesses, witness testimonies recorded under Section 164 of the CrPC before a Magistrate, confessional statements under MCOCA, 22 panchanamas, and technical evidence.
The incident occurred on April 14 outside Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartments residence in Mumbai's Bandra area. Subsequent police investigations linked the crime to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, prompting the invocation of MCOCA. To date, six arrests have been made by the Mumbai Crime Branch in relation to this case.
