In a daring encounter along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, Indian Army troops successfully foiled an attack by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT). One Pakistani intruder was killed, and one Indian soldier tragically lost his life. Four other Indian soldiers, including a Major, sustained injuries in the confrontation.
Defence sources reveal that the BAT team lacked the presence of Pakistan Army troops, including SSG commandos, who often collaborate with terrorist organizations. "Our forces have thwarted a Pakistani BAT offensive at the LoC. The assailants included regular Pakistan Army personnel and SSG commandos closely allied with terror groups," officials stated.
All injured Indian soldiers were swiftly evacuated from the scene. However, one soldier later succumbed to his injuries. The Indian Army's Chinar Corps confirmed an exchange of fire at a forward post in Kamkari, Machchal Sector, acknowledging that one Pakistani resident had been killed. The incident marks a worrying rise in terror-related events in the region, including recent attacks on army convoys and encounters in different districts.
