PM Modi to Inaugurate 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE) this Saturday, marking the event's return to India after 65 years, as per an official statement.

This six-day triennial conference, organized by the International Association of Agricultural Economists, will be centered on the theme: 'Transformation Towards Sustainable Agri-Food Systems.'

Approximately 1,000 delegates from around 75 countries are expected to attend the conference, which aims to address the urgent need for sustainable agriculture in light of global challenges such as climate change, natural resource degradation, rising production costs, and conflicts. The event will highlight India's proactive stance on international agricultural issues and showcase advancements in agricultural research and policy.

The ICAE 2024 will also provide a platform for young researchers and leading professionals to present their work and network with global experts. The conference aims to fortify partnerships between research institutes and universities, influence policymaking on national and international levels, and underscore India's progress in digital agriculture and sustainable agri-food systems.
