134 Ecological Task Force Leads Massive Tree Plantation for Platinum Jubilee

The 134 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Ecological, also called the 134 Ecological Task Force (ETF), marked its Platinum Jubilee celebration with a mass plantation drive at Tezpur Military Station. The event included military personnel and their families who planted numerous fruit-bearing and shade-giving trees to enhance the region's green cover.

The 134 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Ecological, Assam, celebrated its Platinum Jubilee with a significant plantation drive. Known as the 134 Ecological Task Force (ETF), this distinguished military reserve unit organised the event to coincide with Independence Day 2024, according to a statement from PRO Defence.

Held at the Tezpur Military Station in Assam's Sonitpur district, the initiative aimed to raise environmental awareness and featured active participation from military personnel and their families. Established in 2007, the 134 ETF has been instrumental in battling deforestation and restoring ecological balance in the region.

In line with the Platinum Jubilee festivities, the plantation drive saw the planting of numerous fruit-bearing and shade-giving trees. Participants included gallant army personnel, their families, and children, all working together to enhance the community's green cover. ETF members engaged with attendees to underscore the importance of ecosystem protection, highlighting that collective involvement is key to the success of any ecological mission. This drive is part of a year-long series designed to promote environmental sustainability and community engagement.
