Severe Flooding in Gujarat's Valsad Due to Torrential Rains
Heavy rainfall in Gujarat’s Valsad region has caused severe flooding, forcing residents from low-lying areas to relocate. The Auranga River's rising water levels have resulted in widespread waterlogging, prompting the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to carry out multiple rescue operations.

Heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc in Gujarat's Valsad, as the Auranga River overflows, submerging low-lying areas and displacing residents. Ongoing severe downpours have exacerbated the flooding situation over the last few days.
Mukesh Patel, a local resident, described the increasing water levels, saying, "The waterlogging has momentarily reduced, but rain has caused the Auranga River to spill onto Bandar Road and Tariawad, displacing many. The administration has repeatedly warned us to evacuate to safer areas as conditions worsen."
Earlier today, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued seven stranded fishermen in Hinglaj village. Inspector Ramesh Kumar explained, "Due to the continuous heavy rains and high tide, the water levels rose dramatically in low-lying areas, forcing us to conduct urgent rescue operations." High rainfall has also submerged the Vapi region and Navsari district. The India Meteorological Department warns of continued rain in Gujarat for the next five days.
