Parts of Frankfurt Airport experienced a power outage late on Monday due to a technical defect at an external substation. Flights remained unaffected as backup power was activated, and all planned take-offs and landings took place before the night flight ban.

Frankfurt Airport encountered a power outage late Monday night, leaving parts of Terminal One without electricity. Despite the disruption, flights at Germany's busiest hub continued as scheduled, according to an airport spokesperson.

The blackout occurred around 9 PM GMT due to a technical issue at a nearby external substation. Technicians are currently addressing the defect, ensuring minimal impact on operations.

All planned take-offs and landings were completed by the time the airport's night flight ban commenced at 11 PM. The spokesperson confirmed that the airport's backup power supply has been activated, assuring that any flights would remain unaffected by the outage.
