Kiren Rijiju Meets All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council to Discuss Reforms

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju met with a delegation of the All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council (AISSC) on Monday evening. The delegation, led by Syed Naseruddin Chishty, Chairman and Successor of the spiritual head of Ajmer Dargah, included prominent Sajjadanashins from various Dargahs nationwide. They discussed pressing issues concerning the Muslim community.

Rijiju took to social media to share details of the meeting, lauding the fruitful discussions they had. He noted that the delegation appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts toward minority welfare. They also committed to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla was in attendance.

Rijiju highlighted the continuing demands from Muslim women for more transparent and efficient management of Waqf properties. Government insiders disclosed that new amendments to the Waqf Act might be presented shortly. Key reforms include mandatory registration of Waqf properties with the District Collector and increased women's representation on Waqf councils.
