Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik unveiled a striking sand sculpture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the message 'Har Ghar Tiranga' at Puri beach on August 10. The 8-foot-high masterpiece depicts the Prime Minister updating his social media profile picture with the Tiranga.
Locals gathered at the beach lauded the artwork, urging everyone to feel national pride and contribute to the nation. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) initiated the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, calling on citizens to hoist the national flag on their homes, shops, and offices. A concurrent cleanliness drive is also planned.
“I am an Indian. There should be Tiranga in every home. Independence Day is around the corner. This sand art has been created...We are proud to be Indian,” a beachgoer told ANI. Another local, Divanshi from Bhubaneshwar, emphasized that everyone should respect the national flag and feel proud of their country.
Manoj Kumar, a chartered accountant from New Delhi, stressed the importance of spreading the Prime Minister’s 'Har Ghar Tiranga' message amid external threats to national integrity. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had appealed to citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes as part of the campaign during his 'Mann Ki Baat' address on July 28.
The campaign encourages Indians to take selfies with the national flag and share them on social media. 'Har Ghar Tiranga,' part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative, commenced in 2021 to celebrate the 75th year of India's independence by encouraging people to hoist the Tiranga.
