Kheda District's Green Initiative: Tree Plantation Honors Mothers

In a significant environmental initiative, employees and officers from various departments in Kheda district have come together to plant 4,000 tree saplings over a sprawling area of 19,000 square meters. This effort is part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, aimed at promoting environmental conservation.
Guided by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the initiative took place in Survey Number 386 of Piplag village. Officials and employees created a 'Karmayogi Van' by planting multiple species of trees, underscoring their commitment to nature.
The campaign, supported by the Social Forestry Department and Piplag Gramme Panchayat, will see further action on August 15, 2024, when CM Patel will plant a sapling during the Independence Day celebrations. A symbolic sculpture of a mother and child will also be unveiled, emphasizing the campaign’s message. Various departments including Revenue, Panchayat, Police, and Education have participated, marking each sapling with plaques honoring their mothers. The initiative also includes infrastructure to support the saplings' growth and protection.
