Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has accused the Mamata Banerjee administration of systemic failure following the alleged rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. Pradhan took to social media to express his outrage, saying, 'There has been a complete systemic failure in West Bengal time and again. But the blame lies on 'Bam and Ram'.'

Pradhan's comments follow Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's accusation that the 'Left and Ram' conspired around the incident. In addition, the Health Ministry has issued a new directive requiring institutions to file an FIR within six hours in the event of violence against healthcare workers.

Doctors across India are demanding a Central Protection Act in response to the incident, with protests sweeping the nation from Assam to Tamil Nadu. Physicians are halting non-emergency services and performing street plays to draw attention to their cause, urging the government to ensure justice and safety for healthcare workers.
