Chief Minister's Directive Drives Swift Restoration Efforts in Kedar Valley

Under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's orders, District In-charge Char Dham Yatra Secretary R Rajesh Kumar inspected restoration projects in Kedar Valley after heavy rains. Accompanied by officials, he urged accelerated repair work on key roads and riverbanks, stressing the need for swift action and comprehensive proposals for future stability.

On the directive of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, District In-charge Char Dham Yatra Secretary R Rajesh Kumar embarked on a field inspection of restoration projects in Kedar Valley following recent heavy rains. Kumar, along with concerned officials, scrutinized the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund National Highway, urging a swift acceleration of repair works.

During the visit, Kumar reviewed projects managed by the National Highway Division of PWD and the Irrigation Department. The Public Works Department has deployed its entire team to repair damaged sections, specifically from Km 72 to Km 75, where extensive use of earth movers was observed. Kumar directed officials to expedite their efforts.

Identifying areas vulnerable to landslides, Kumar was informed by National Highway officials about a proposal submitted to THDC for route strengthening. He instructed that the most sensitive locations be prioritized. Additionally, Kumar inspected ongoing works by the Irrigation Section on both sides of the Son River in Sonprayag, emphasizing immediate commencement on the right side. He also highlighted the review of the Sitapur parking area and stressed collaboration with district and police administration for comprehensive solutions.
