The Delhi High Court has reserved its order on the bail plea of Delhi-based businessman Amandeep Singh Dhall, director of Brindco Sales Private Limited, in an ongoing money laundering investigation linked to the excise policy case. The decision follows intense deliberations from both sides.
Senior Advocate Dayan Krishnan, representing Dhall, argued for his bail based on parity, highlighting that others implicated in the case, such as Manish Sisodia, K Kavitha, and Vijay Nair, have been granted bail by the Supreme Court. Krishnan emphasized that the trial is expected to be prolonged and noted Dhall has already been in custody for several months.
In contrast, Advocate Vivek Gurnani, representing the Directorate of Enforcement, opposed Dhall's bail plea. Gurnani accused Dhall of attempting to influence witnesses and bribing officials while in custody. He underscored that substantial digital evidence and witness statements support these claims. Additionally, Gurnani argued that delays in the trial were due to Dhall's actions, setting his case apart from others.
