A police officer has apprehended a drunk driver following an incident in Indapur taluka where the driver crashed his truck into a hotel after being denied food on Saturday. The episode, which occurred at Hotel Gokul on the Pune-Solapur Highway, has garnered considerable attention on social media.
As per a police report, the driver was traveling from Solapur to Pune and stopped at the hotel to request food. The hotel's owner declined his request, citing that the establishment was closed for the day. In a fit of rage, the driver drove his truck into the hotel, resulting in significant structural damage. Additionally, he destroyed a two-wheeler and two four-wheelers parked nearby. Local residents attempted to intervene, but the driver's rampage continued until the truck's wheels got stuck. Upon arrival, the police arrested the driver and charged him under various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, along with BNS Section 109, 281, 324 (4)(5).
