On Friday, private equity firm Amicus Capital announced a Rs 125 crore investment in Equirus Group, a financial services company that was originally supported by the late Rakesh Jhunjunwala. The specific stake acquired remains undisclosed.
This investment comprises both primary and secondary sales, with Federal Bank, a private sector lender, partially exiting, according to a statement. The new group of investors includes Kishor Patil, Ajai Kumar, and several others.
An infusion of funds aims to bolster Equirus' capital expansion, technology enhancements, talent acquisition, and operational improvements. Co-founder of Amicus Capital, Mahesh Parasuraman, highlighted the alignment with India’s growth trajectory, while Equirus MD Ajay Garg emphasized leveraging insights for enhanced client outcomes.
